Breath
Every breath is a struggle against the conscious. To give life - a subconscious, innate, and involuntary instinct - is something one must find revolting. Choices that were never mine to make, only under the guise of how it has always been. A relentless battle between the inescapable. Both selves, choices and not.
So I rebel. I must hold it. And perhaps, someday, when I have the resolve strong enough to see it through, I will have succeeded. The most honest service to self. Only this triumph is temporary, for winning is ceding control.
It starts all over.
